Next, know what they can do for you! Chicago aldermen work to serve the interest of their ward, provide relevant resources, and shape development. They have a budget of $1 million+ annually to spend infrastructure projects like fixing roads, traffic calming, lighting, community programming, and much more.

For all ages

Youth

Belmont Cragin’s population is over one-third youth, and has multiple involvement opportunities for all ages.

  • Riis Park
    Enjoy , baseball, basketball, soccer & football, tennis, swimming and more. Riis Park also offers arts & crafts, ceramics, acting, and family ceramics. In the summer, Riis offers a youth 6-week day camp.

    Blackhawk Park
    Find a variety of programs for youth/pre-teens: soccer, football, cheerleading, basketball, wrestling, tumbling, T-ball & Little League baseball.

    The park has a quarter-mile walking path, baseball and softball fields, a football/soccer field, tennis courts, a basketball court, plus a playground with a spray pool.

Parents

In addition to many fitness, arts, and craft classes and activities offered at our local parks, see other ways for parents to get involved and access resources.

  • Parent University
    Offered through Northwest Center at Steinmetz, find a range of classes for parents and adults, from cooking, to computer literacy, ESL, citizenship, financial literacy, and much more.
